UGC NET – New Exam Pattern

University Grants Commission (UGC) conducted NET or National Eligibility Test is an important examination or test as a selection process for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). UGC organizing this examination or NET twice a year on a half-yearly basis as for two seasons. UGC-NET June and December are the two seasons for the NET in a year. For UGC-NET June 2012 examination, which is going to be held on 24th June, 2012 (Sunday) UGC inviting Online applications from eligible students/candidates. UGC declared new or changed examination pattern for the UGC-NET exam 2012 onwards.

New pattern for UGC-NET:

- From June 2012 season onwards the UGC-NET examination will be conducted in objective mode. The test / examination will consist of three papers (i.e. Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III). All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on the day of Examination in two separate sessions.

- The syllabus of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will remain the same. There will be no negative marking.

- The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately (as given below) in all papers. The final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by UGC before declaration of the result.

- On conclusion of the examination the candidates will be allowed to carry the carbon printout of OMR Response Sheets with them.

Examination Question pattern:
